Giselle Mather hopes home advantage will give Teddington the extra boost they need to complete a remarkable season with victory in the National Senior Vase final tomorrow.

A win against North Lancashire Division One outfit Littleborough at Twickenham will mean Mather's side would finish the season having won every game, extending their incredible unbeaten run to 62 matches.

With the final only one mile from their Bushy Park home ground, Mather believes the extra support they should receive will help them add to last season's Junior Vase title.

"Our proximity to Twickenham is something that means we could be described as the home side," she said.

"Of course, we will take that and use that and the support we are going to get because of it.

"Already, there are a lot of tickets being sold and a lot of people saying they are going to be there and we are hopeful of 1500 fans which would be fantastic.

"It is going to be a real occasion for us and so we feel excited but also nervous.

"Littleborough are a strong side or they wouldn't have got to where they have got.

"Being from up north they are rugby league orientated and have been getting coaching sessions from Henry Paul which shows how seriously they are taking this.

"I feel we are very well prepared and my players are up for it but a final is a final and anything can happen.

"We are not over-confident nor under-confident, we just work hard and are raring to go."

Unsurprisingly, Mather has a fully ft squad to pick from.

"If they have got niggles they are not letting on," she said.

"It is every players' dream to play at Twickenham.

"They are a few in the squad that were not there last year and for them it is a first time experience but the ones doing it for a second time are equally honoured to have that opportunity"

Tickets for the final, which starts at 1pm, cost just £5 for adults and £2 for children.
