Florent Rossigneaux admits Saturday’s clash at Clifton presents a major pitfall for Rosslyn Park as they look to secure a National League Two South play-off spot.

The Bristol side have lost only one game at home this season and have climbed to fourth in the table over recent weeks.

But, with Park level on points with third place Ealing, Rossigneaux expects his side to make the most of their chance.

He said: “Of course it is going to be a very difficult game for us and Clifton have had some extremely good results at home.

“But the way we have played this season we seem to have performed better against the better sides so there is no doubt we can do it.

“We just need to focus and go into the game with the right frame of mind.

“The only way we are going to keep our position in the play-offs is to keep winning with bonus points, so it is pretty simple.”

Park warmed up for the Clifton showdown with a resounding 68-15 win over Westcombe Park last weekend, ending a run of two straight defeats.

Marc Sweeney (three), James Strong (two), Billy O’Driscoll (two), Will Collier, Chris Ritchie and Graham Barr crossed for tries as Park were 42-0 up inside 25 minutes.

A satisfied Rossigneaux felt it was the perfect response after recent results.

He added: “It was very important for us to get back on track and get the confidence back in our game.

“We have not lost any of our ability, it was just a state of mind.

“The points came very quickly and from a number of different players which was very pleasing.

“With the pitches firming up that has really helped our style of rugby and hopefully that will be the case over the remainder of the season.”
