Munster’s Anthony Foley brings a youthful squad to England to play an Esher XV tonight (Wednesday) ahead of their British & Irish Cup semi-final against Ulster on Saturday, April 24.

Munster A have progressed unbeaten through the pool stages of the cup, including an 18-6 win over Bristol, who are fighting for promotion to the Guinness Premiership.

Esher will be fielding a mixed team of first and seconds XV players, and may feature some guests as director of rugby Mike Schmid makes plans for the Championship next season, having secured promotion at the weekend with a 31-12 win against Blaydon.

“It’s a great opportunity for our players to test themselves against very good opposition” said Schmid. “It will give them a taste of what we may encounter next year in the British & Irish Cup.”

The game kicks off at 5.45pm. Admission is free and the bar will be open from 5pm.
