Esher Rugby are celebrating the start of the Six Nations competition this weekend with a marathon of Rugby.

As the first 6 Nations game kicks off at Croke Park between Ireland and Italy on Saturday, Esher are playing Wharfedale in a rescheduled National One fixture at Molesey Road. Esher are currently defending the top spot in National Division One as they look for promotion to the Championship having won all but one of their 17 games this season.

The Esher game kicks off early at 2.30pm to allow players and supporters alike to watch the England v Wales game live on the big screens in the clubhouse at 5pm. Spectators can also take part in a 6 Nations competition to guess to win luxury prizes including a golf break and a hot air balloon flight.

The England Women are then using Esher Rugby as their home ground for the Women’s 6 Nations Tournament, which echoes the men’s fixtures. They kick off against Wales at 7pm, where they’ll be hoping to right some wrongs from last year’s encounter which saw a 78th minute penalty giving Wales the win by just one point, the only team to beat England in the competition for 4 years.

Last year England became the fist women’s side to win four back to back 6 Nations titles and will be looking to collect their 5th as they prepare to host the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2011.

On Sunday after the Esher Youth Section matches, there is another Women’s International Fixture as England A’s play the Nomads at 4pm.
