Old Glynonians 5 Wandsworthians 3
A weary display nevertheless saw OGs return to winning ways and maintain a strong position at the top of Surrey Four, writes Robin Davides.
At a bitterly cold and windy Priest Hill, OGs entertained Wandsworthians, although maybe not so much the brave supporters who witnessed a game riddled with mistakes and few clear scoring opportunities.
Wandsworthians went in the final 10 minutes 3-0 ahead after their spoiling tactics did little for the spectacle, but seemed to be leading them to a well-deserved away win.
That was until Gareth Price trundled over the line after some neat forwards interplay to give the Ewell side a narrow victory.
Samuel Drew received man-of-the -match accolades for a tireless display at wing forward.
OG’s Chris Justham said: “While we are pleased with the win, we know there is much to improve on should we want to keep the chasing pack at bay.
“With several injuries running through the squad, it is important now we group together and get through this difficult period of the season.”
Glyonians have a weekend off before travelling to Reigations on December 12.
