Royalton hit the jackpot in Esher Rugby Club’s shirt draw on Monday.

The prestige property developers were pulled out of the hat to have their firm’s logo on the front of Esher’s home shirts this season.

Royalton were one of 10 firms to pay just over £2000 to enter the draw for branding worth £35,000.

They will have their logo on the front of the home shirts while recruitment consultants Review Contracts won the prize to have their name on the away strip.

The shirt draw helped the club raise nearly £30,000 towards the forthcoming National One campaign.

Royalton director Stephen Bond said: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured the shirt sponsorship for the forthcoming season.

“As one of the most established brands within the borough of Elmbridge, Royalton now have a wonderful opportunity to further demonstrate our involvement within the local community.

“We are already looking forward to a successful new partnership with Esher Rugby and with our ongoing support we hope for an even more successful season for the players and supporters.”

Business consortium Toms Group and sports management company Benchmark Sport were the other names drawn to have their logos on the sleeve and shorts.

More than 40 club members also paid £250 to enter the draw and Esher Chairman of Rugby John Inverdale, to his embarrassment, won the rights to have his name as a logo on the arm of the sleeve.

Esher general manager Jamie Robinson said: “This was a late initiative but we are very pleased with the response and this will no doubt be repeated next season.

“The draw raised nearly £30,000 for the club which, in the current climate, is a fantastic sum and takes us one more step towards achieving the funding we need to support the squad that Mike Schmid needs to challenge at this level.”
