The biggest ever replica Lions shirt is visiting London this weekend to gather more support for the British & Irish Lions.

The Giant Shirt started the day with Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon at Capital FM before heading over to the HSBC Kingston branch. The shirt will visit Twickenham tomorrow to gather more support as the Lions kick-off their first game in Rustenburg, South Africa at 2pm.

HSBC are encouraging fans to log on to www.lionsrugby.com/hsbc, sign the shirt and get behind the team in their quest for victory over the World Champions South Africa.

One lucky person from each of the home nations who signs the shirt online will also win a VIP trip for two to the third and final test. With the Tour getting underway this weekend, there couldn’t be a better time to back the Lions.

The Giant shirt, which is sure to become an iconic sight over the next month, has spent the last week touring the British Isles & Ireland gathering support for the Lions and the tour will continue next week in Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Bath, Bristol and Bath before heading to South Africa to follow the team.

Three time Lions tourist Brian O’Driscoll, who knows all about the lure of the iconic red jersey, launched the shirt two weeks ago.

O’Driscoll said: “The Lions Tour to South Africa this summer is sure to be another titanic battle, and nothing can beat the feeling of touring with the Lions, not least to the backyard of the Rugby World Champions.

"I can vividly remember the drama and excitement of the last Lions Tour to South Africa 12 years ago, as well as captaining the Lions on the last Tour, and with the launch of today’s initiative to get behind the shirt, HSBC has provided a perfect opportunity for fans to get involved this summer.

“That’s why I am calling on all fans, whether supporters of England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales to show their support for the squad and sign the shirt.”

The Lions coaching team and squad have already signed the shirt, so now is a great time for fans and supporters to have their name up alongside the greatest rugby players and to truly follow this summer’s British & Irish Lions Tour.

Current signees include past Lions Martin Johnson, Will Greenwood, Jeremy Guscott, Willie John McBride and HSBC ambassadors Jason Robinson, Gavin Hastings and Gareth Edwards.

Everyone can ‘sign’ the giant shirt and follow it’s tour by visiting www.lionsrugby.com/hsbc. Your name will then be printed onto the giant replica before it heads off to South Africa in June.

Signees will also be entered into a prize draw to win four sought after trips to go to South Africa for the third and final test in Johannesburg – with one winner from each home nation.

The shirt started its tour on Monday by visiting Swansea and then continued onto Llanelli, Cardiff and Manchester.

The shirt moves on and visits Dublin, Belfast, Bath, Bristol, Glasgow and Leicester next week. To find out more about the HSBC Giant Lions Shirt and the Lions Tour please visit www.lionsrugby.com/hsbc.
