Yet again these two teams provided a thrilling game with both sides equal to the task, the teams both had the 6-6 draw in their minds and were determined to put a gap between them.

Civil Service swept out of defence and only a desperate last ditch tackle on winger Robinson saved Letchworth.

Civil Service exerted the better pressure in the first few minutes and forced a penalty converted by Aaron Campbell 3-0.

Letchworth were forced to infringe under pressure and racked up a few penalties against them. Then the break through with some good forward work Civil Service spun the ball wide penetrating the Lechtworth defence for Tom Sincock score out wide 8-0 after 14 minutes.

That seemed to be a gap but Letchworth had a really good spell but the Civil Service defence was coping well with the pressure, but inevitably the Letchworth pressure led to penalties one of which was converted against the strengthening wind 8-3 after 22 minutes.

Letchworth sensing they had Civil Service under pressure were further enthused by a scrum back from the kick off as the wind carried the ball just wide.

Letchworth certainly had the bit between their teeth and their play was good as they strove to get through the Civil Service defence which was holding firm.

Civil Service must have thought a five point margin was not enough and started a series of attacks inside the five metre line but the Letchworth defence was working really well as they held on.

Suddenly after sustained pressure Civil Service lost the ball and with a clearance kick from one twenty two to the other the chase was on scramble defence cleared the first hurdle but the pressure pass went to ground and a penalty was given to Letchworth which was converted by Letchworth 8-6 on 44 minutes.

The second half started and Civil Service spent a large part in their half defending against the Letchworth attacks and were being pinned back by the Letchworth positional kicking.

Who was going to crack first the pressure was on and as the kettle boiled Civil service it was that infringed in their keenness to get some relief and in a ten minute spell gave three kickable penalties away two were converted to lose the lead 8-12 after 69 minutes.

Civil Service had to do something and they attacked from the restart and controlled the ball up into the Letchworth twenty two and with some physical forward play Jayme Salmon scored by the posts for Aaron Campbell to convert 15-12 after 78 minutes.

Letchworth threw everything into the last few minutes trying left and right but the Civil Service defence was equal to it and a blistering last few minutes finished when Letchworth threw long missed the ball a Civil Service regained possession and kicked the ball out.

Great result and nail biting to the end both these teams provided good entertainment for the supporters home and away.
