Rosslyn Park coach Chris Kibble bemoaned his side's lack of composure after they slipped to a 27-17 defeat at home to National Division Three South leaders Mounts Bay on Saturday.

Park held their own for long periods of the game against their fully professional visitors, but poor decision-making at crucial times proved costly.

Kibble said: "We are bitterly disappointed not to have won.

"Yet again it was another nearly' performance.

"Once we got in the critical areas, our execution simply was not good enough.

"It was one that got away and that is becoming a habit."

The hosts took the game to their Cornish guests from the off and were rewarded for a bright start when lock Graham Corin crashed over.

But, despite tackling manfully for the full 80 minutes, they had no answer when Mounts Bay upped the tempo in the second half.

Even so, a defiant Kibble hailed his side's defence, and the fact that they grabbed a further late try through John Swords.

He added: "Our one-on-one tackling was immense - the players really put their bodies on the line."
