Rosslyn Park head coach Alex Codling has admitted they will not topple league leaders Ealing Trailfinders.
His side are second in National League One, nine points behind Ealing after their nemesis won their game in hand last weekend.
They have six games left and Codling can see no way that they can win the title against the only full-time side in the division.
He said: “I’m 100 per cent sure we can’t catch Ealing.
“It’s unrealistic to think so, it’s been unrealistic throughout the season and I wish Ealing luck going forward.
“There’s no question that Ealing will finish.”
Codling’s goal is now second place, giving Park a respectable finish, but ultimately not earning them promotion.
Coventry, in third, are six points behind and Codling is focused on staying one step ahead of them.
He said: “The aim now is going to be to put a good run together as we head to the end of the season.
“We want to finish second place and we’re there now so if we keep going we should be able to secure it.
“Coventry are a good side, but if we get on a good run we’ll keep them at bay.”
Park were without a match last weekend, a rarity for Codling’s men.
He said: “It was our first weekend off since the start of the season, other than Christmas, and I enjoyed the break.
“We’ve got players with a few bumps and bruises like every team has after a long hard season so it will be good to have a rest.”
Park go to Esher this weekend, with Codling saying: “After a weekend off and a chance for the boys to recharge the batteries, it is key we have the right mindset and application in training to prepare for a derby.”
