Mitcham's Danny ‘Cassius’ Connor backed up his pre-match boasts by winning his fight with Wales' Sean Gorman on Sunday.
Connor, who had a slow start to his boxing career, claimed before the match it would be different this time and, despite Gorman starting off the better, he eventually came out on top.
The fight, part of the bill at the Great Expectations event co-promoted by Miranda Carter and Bruce Baker, saw Connor keep his cool in the early rounds and sensibly work behind his jab as Gorman pushed forward.
Connor became more aggressive in the fourth round and boxed well to win by a close 39-38 margin.
Former athlete Warren 'Fearless' Fenn opened his professional account by beating Mickey O'Sullivan on Friday night.
He won on points after four rounds at The Coronet Theatre in Elephant & Castle.
