Bradley Ellis is targeting his third Dunlop Radical UK Cup podium at Brands Hatch as the sportscar series returns to his home track this weekend.

The Croydon-born former British GT Champion boasts a podium perfect record having finished on the rostrum at least once at every race meeting he’s contested in recent years at the Kent circuit, which remains one of his favourite European tracks.

Ellis upheld his unblemished record while returning to race at Brands Hatch after a four-year absence last month with a display of sportscar prowess, finishing third in round five after climbing through the field from 16th position.

A seventh place finish for round six in challenging weather conditions also helped secure vital championship points for Ellis and team-mate Andy Cummings.

Despite not contesting every round of the Radical UK Cup during their debut season, Ellis and Cummings lie seventh in the Supersport title battle.

Heading into the second half of the season, the Supreme Racing duo will be equipped with a completely new Radical SR3 at Brands Hatch to help build on an already positive start to their partnership.

The new car will be delivered just in time for Friday’s test session which will offer Ellis his first and only opportunity to try out and develop the new chariot before the double-header event, staged on the 1.198-mile Indy Circuit, kicks off on Saturday.

With second and third-place finishes plus numerous charges through the field to record top point-scoring results already to his credit, all eyes are on making it three in a row and maintaining Ellis’ podium pedigree on home soil.

“It seems strange to be returning to Brands Hatch twice in as many months after not racing at my local track for four years previously,” said Ellis.

“Of course, it is great to be heading back but I haven’t raced on the Indy Circuit since I last contested select Radical races back in 2007, so I am really looking forward to facing the tight, twisty track once again.

“The new car will be delivered the day before testing at Brands and although that doesn’t give us much time to develop the car, it is an exciting update for the team as we work together to help Supreme Racing grow throughout the year and move forward as a team.

“It is rewarding to have such a key role in an evolving team like Supreme Racing.

"The guys are doing a great job and I am positive we can make the most of the new car in the time we have, and then continue development in the following rounds.

“As well as getting to grips with the new Radical SR3, we will need to be on the ball as we once again race alongside the SR8s.

"With only short straights around the Indy Circuit, the SR8s won’t have enough distance to pull away and we will be quicker through the corners, so that will make things even more interesting.”

Ellis will be on-track throughout Friday’s test session in preparation for qualifying at 10.50am on Saturday.

The battle for round nine of the Dunlop Radical UK Cup takes place at 3.40pm on Saturday afternoon with round 10 on Sunday at 1.55pm.
