Wandsworth have named their table tennis squad for this year’s Balfour Beatty London Youth Games. The borough came second in both the male and female table tennis in 2010 and their team manager has high hopes of success this year when the qualifiers takes place at Redbridge Sports Centre on Saturday 11 June 2011.

Included in the team are Lobsang Lama, Joseph Langham, Gobi Sriparen, Andre Dunkley, Alex Awaskowski, Franco Abbey and Omar Bayne Brown for the boys. Jessica Monis, Lucy Lou, Mariele Locke, Jennifer Higham and Emma Millington for the girls.

Anne-Marie Ormonde, Wandsworth table tennis team manager, said: ‘Teams at the London Youth Games can expect hard-fought matches as we are determined to either match or beat last year’s performances.

‘Lobsang Lama on the boys team is one to watch out for at this year’s competition. We are represented by Ernest Bevin Sports College, Burntwood, Ashcroft Academy and John Paul II schools.

‘We train two to three time a week with either Ernest Bevin table tennis club or York Gardens. It’s an honour to represent your borough at the London Youth Games, especially following in the footsteps of former Wandsworth competitors such as Darius Knight.’
