Raynes Park’s leading health, sports and leisure operator David Lloyd Leisure is running its first ever Nutrition Awareness Week from June 13-18, with a programme of fun and educational events, offers and activities for its members.

The programme, run in conjunction with Pure Sports Medicine, will feature a different theme each day, including weight loss, sports nutrition and nutrition for kids, and offer members talks and advice by nutrition experts, free nutritious snacks and drinks, cholesterol and allergy testing, fun children’s activities and more.

General manager for David Lloyd Leisure Raynes Park Charles Jude said: “Good nutrition is vital for an active lifestyle and something we at David Lloyd feel very strongly about. We have put together this programme to give our members inspiration and information on healthy eating to complement their sports or fitness programme.”

Nutritionist at Pure Sports Medicine Henrietta Bailey said: “Many people underestimate the importance of nutrition on performance, whether it be children’s play or a high level sporting event. We aim to debunk many of the myths adults believe and encourage kids to have a positive view of healthy foods.”

The programme and daily themes include: Monday 13th – Weight loss Tuesday 14th – Pre and post natal Wednesday 15th – Cholesterol testing Thursday 16th – Sports nutrition Friday 17th – Allergy testing Saturday 18th – Family and junior sports nutrition
