Surbiton’s James Tindall, Richard Alexander and Matt Daly plus Wimbledon’s Rob Moore are toiling in the heat and humidity of Malaysia this week on the road to London 2012.

The quartet are part of an 18-man GB squad competing at the 20th Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh.

Tindall, from a first-half penalty corner, and Moore, who joined Conference East Wimbledon from Surbiton at the start of last season, helped Britain to a 3-1 win over the hosts in their opening match last Thursday.

Tindall scored again against ninth-ranked India in the following day’s clash with India, but that proved a consolation in a 3-1 defeat.

Britain were back on song on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Pakistan, Moore setting them on their way with a third-minute goal from open play.

Alexander got his name on the scoresheet with a 55th minute goal from open play in Monday’s 3-1 win over New Zealand.

That put Britain top of the seventh-nation table but they were last night facing their toughest game of the tournament against world number one-ranked Australia before facing Korea tomorrow (saturday).

The positional play-off finals, including the gold/silver match, are on Sunday.
