Chas Symonds is back in the ring this Sunday after a two-year absence and already has his sights set on a British title.

The 28-year-old Croydon bomber is fighting an as yet unnamed opponent at York Hall in Bethnal Green, his first bout since being knocked out by Badru Lusambya in March 29.

Since then he has been travelling but is now back in south London, training with Rose Hill ABC in Sutton, and getting ready to give his boxing career one final shot.

"I have come back and I am hungry again," said Symonds, who lives in Shirley and will be fighting at welterweight on Sunday.

"I want to give it 100 per cent to see where I could get to.

"I am 28 now and have matured.

"The aim is I want a British title shot to see if I could do it and I do believe I can.

"I am also waiting to find out if I will be in Prizefighter on June 7 and that would be a great opportunity for me if I was.

"The last time I had a lot of problems personally with my family and I had to go away and get my head right.

"But now I am back and at Rose Hill ABC which is a great gym and we will see how I go this week and where I go after that."
