Tadworth AC’s Paul O’Callaghan was fifth out of 738 runners in Sunday’s Richmond Half Marathon, helping Tadworth to finish as second team behind host club Ranealgh Harriers.
O’Callagham clocked one hour, 15 minutes, 15 seconds with seventh-placed David Freeman (1.16:59) taking the men’s over-40 title. Dave Williamson was 12th (1.20:13).
Other Tadworth times: 16 Tim Wilkes 1:22:26, 20 Peter Mills 1:23:05, 484 Stephen Robinson 2:04:58.
Emily Banting was Tadworth Athletics Club’s first finisher in the Hogsmill five-mile women’s race, finishing 25th out of 138 runners in 44 minutes, nine seconds. Frances Clarke (47:58) was 58th and Helene Hill (50:24) 77th. Meanwhile, Tadworth runners joined a field of 148 for the Surrey Hills races near Dorking. Geoff Newton won the men’s over-60 class in the 10-mile event, finishing 11th in 1:19.21. The 10km event was won by Dave Fisher (54:33).
