The Gary Moore-trained Megastar will head to Sandown Park on Saturday 8 January 2011 to run in the Grade One 32Red Hurdle following his impressive Ascot debut over hurdles and second to Rock on Ruby at Newbury last time out.

Gary Moore, trainer of Megastar, commented: “I was very pleased with his run at Newbury, there were lots of positives to take out of the race and he has come out of it very well. The 32Red Hurdle at Sandown Park has always been the aim and I am looking forward to 8 January.”

Paul Nicholls, who will be bidding for four consecutive 32Red Hurdles (registered as Tolworth Hurdle), commented: “I will be running Toubab who won a listed race at Haydock Park last time and/or Dolatulo who won at Sandown Park earlier in the season. They are both nice horses.”

In addition to the top class racing with two Grade One races, Christmas is a time for giving and receiving and the racecourse is asking for all racegoers to come bearing a gift they received for Christmas and are happy to donate to a local charity. After the success of the last few years, any gifts that are left at the racecourse will be donated to the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice who helps people achieve the best possible quality of life and supports families and patients living in the Surrey area.
