Sandown Park begins its 2011 programme with 32 Red Hurdle Day on Saturday, January 8.
The programme features the famous grade one 32Red Hurdle Race for novices, also known as the Tolworth Hurdle.
This challenging race is run over two miles, and always attracts top-flight hurdlers in a fiercely fought contest.
Former winners include Desert Orchid and Monsignor while the event has been dominated in recent years by champion trainer Paul Nicholls who will be going for his fourth consecutive victory.
Last year’s race fell victim to the arctic conditions but entries for this year’s event are strong.
Racegoers are being urged to donate unwanted Christmas gifts to the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice.
Also coming up at Sandown in totesport Masters Day, featuring Comedy at the Races, on Saturday, February 5.
