Hounslow & District Wheelers’ hill climb brought the time trial season to a close with another victory for Wouter Sybrandy.
Sybrandy’s established prowess made this result unsensational, but what did surprise the large crowd of spectators was that second placed Nic Stagg got so close to him, with a difference of just 3.7 seconds separating the two contenders.
His time for the 800 yard ascent of Wooburn Hill was one minute 38.9 seconds with Stagg on 1:42.6. These are fast performances which encourage us to hope that they will both see succeed in the 2011 season.
Another strong ride for third place came from Marc Lorenzi with 1:55.6. Marc is a recent recruit to the club, and to judge by this performance he may prove to be a useful acquisition.
