Worcester Park racer Howard Fuller says he is keeping his options open for next season after walking away from Formula Palmer Audi.

The 18-year-old finished seventh in the overall driver’s standings in the summer just missing out by a place on a dream test drive for the Formula Two championship.

Brooklands College student Fuller finished third in the BARC Formula Renault Winter Championship after securing three podium finishes in the six race series.

And while it is single-seater racing he is most keen on, he hasn’t ruled out looking elsewhere for a race seat next summer.

“We are going to step away from the FPA now and are looking at doing some testing with Formula Two,” he said.

“Single seater is the way we want to go, but we may look at saloon cars as well. We had some success in the Volkswagen Cup last year.

“The competition was extremely high in the FPA from all over the world because of the £100,000 Formula Two scholarship on offer to the winner.

“We’ll do some more testing over the winter and wait and see what comes up.”

Fuller impressed in the Formula Renault Winter Series with Team Hillspeed and he already has the offer of a return to the outfit next year.

“I learnt a huge amount in the winter series. The cars looked familiar but were very different to drive,” he added.

“We could have got even better results, but I was still one of the quickest on the track and Hillspeed have already said want me back.”
