Ranelagh Harriers enjoyed triple success in the Surrey Road Relay Championships on Saturday.

Their best result came in the four-lap women’s race and, although they were unable to retain the title they won in 2009, they were pleased with silver medals.

Estelle Damant completed the first leg in 16 minutes, 47 seconds, the second fastest leg of the day behind South London Harriers’ Georgie Bruivels (16.31) who got her team off to a flying start.

She was followed by Jo Ronaldson, Sandra Prosser and Marie Synott-Wells as Ranelagh finished 28 seconds behind SLH.

The women’s over-35 team repeated last season’s third place through Sonia Rowland, Louise Piears, Michele Gibson and Ronaldson.

John Shaw, Steve Rowland, Andy Hayward and Chris Owens took bronze in the men’s over-50 event.

Ranelagh’s team finished ninth in a high-quality senior men’s race with Phil Killingley (14.47) their fastest runner.

He was backed up by Richard Gregory, Nathan Mills. Ed Barker, Chris Bundhun and Marc Snaith.
