David Haye is confident of closing the book on his former friend Audley Harrison for good, writes Ziad Chaudry.

The 29-year-old WBA world heavyweight champion, who is based in Clapham, will meet the 2004 Olympic gold medallist in a contest billed as Best of Enemies at the MEN Arena, Manchester, on November 13.

Haye, who successfully defended his title by stopping John Ruiz in nine rounds in April, said: “I don’t believe Audley deserves a chance.

“But enough people want to see him finally destroyed - that is why this fight is happening.

“The fight will be a public execution. Everybody feels passionately that they want me to finally close the curtain on the joke that is the Audley Harrison show.

"I'm the most devastating fighter on the planet. This is the time Audley’s career gets well and truly finished."

But Harrison, who beat Michael Sprott in a European title defence in April, insisted: “This is my destiny.

“On November 13, Audley Harrison will be champion of the world and of that there is no doubt.

"If David Haye thinks I have taken this fight strictly for a payday, he is in for a very rude awakening."

Tickets for the fight being televised on Sky Box Office are available on 08448 478000 or at www.men-arena.com But the on-going war of words saga between Haye and the Klitschko brothers continued when Wladimir told the South Londoner to stop talking ‘garbage’ and face him in a unification showdown immediately after his tenth round stoppage victory over Nigerian Samuel Peter last Saturday in Frankfurt, Germany Haye was due to fight the IBF and WBO champion from Ukraine back in June 2009, only to pull out due to injury.

"I'm getting tired of David Haye, we're talking about him a lot,” said Klitschko. “I hope he'll stop talking garbage and follow through with his promises.

"I believe David Haye talked himself into the top ten of the heavyweight division, but he hasn't accomplished a lot.”

Poland’s Tomasz Adamek could next be in line to meet Haye, providing he succeeds on November 13 and still cannot agree a deal with the Klitschko’s.
