Mixed fortunes for Mid-Surrey

Mid-Surrey Bowling Club played two Richmond Barnes & District League matches On the Saturday we hosted Harrodians BC and had a good victory winning 2-1 plus the overall score 56-50 to claim three of the four points available.

The top team was Graham Greenwood, Peter Hickman & Richard Phillips beating M.Wilkin (skip) 25-11.

Sunday Still playing at home Mid Surrey came up against Masonians BC the scores were reversed and lost 1-2 to a strong side although only losing by threeshots on overall score 48-51 to claim one league point.

The top rink was John Donovan , Peter Hickman , Jimmy Nuthall & Timmy Orr beating Brian Halliday (skip) 21-15.

Mid week we had a three Triples Mixed match against The Hurlingham Club.

The only winning Triple was Ian Humble , Jane Pidgeon & Derek Withey beating Graham Clarke 16-9 to go down 1-2 and 39-50 over all score.

Coronation Singles: John Donovan 22 C MacKenzie 19, Brian Baker 21 Graham Greenwood 18, Brian Lawton 21 Brian Baker 14.

Handicap singles: Des Hunter 21 John Fox 15.

Championship Pairs: Timmy Orr 25 Colin Nolan 10.

Handicap Pairs: Brian Baker & Nigel Goringe 31 Brian Lawton & Harry Goringe 24, Jimmy Nuthall & Peter Hickman 22 Des Hunter & Timmy Orr 19, John Donovan & Richard Phillips 41 Bob Stanton & Graham Greenwood 16.

Mixed pairs: Joan Orr & Colin Nolan 24 Pat Bedward & Graham Greenwood 13.
