St Mary’s University College had three winners at the English Championships at Bedford.
Ronnie Sparke raced to victory in the junior men’s 1,500m in three minutes, 50.38 seconds.
But he missed out on the 3:44.00 qualifying mark for next month’s World Junior Championships in Canada.
Laura Parker sliced seven seconds off her personal best in winning the U23 women’s 3,000m steeple-chase (10:21.33). She was also seventh in the U23 women’s 1500m in 4:35.08.
Tom Wade clocked 9:07.17 to win the men’s event from St Mary’s colleague Sam Bradley (9:10.35), with Ashley Harrell sixth (9:22.47) and Joe Wade eighth (9:40.77).
In the junior women’s race, Aiya Abe’s personal best 11:16.37 earned her silver.
St Mary’s Rick Ward took bronze in the U23 men’s 800m (1:53.00), with Tom Carroll seventh (1:53.61).
Mitch Goose was ninth in the U23 1,500m (3:55.37), Jennifer Honeyball sixth in the U23 women’s pole vault (3.20m) and Steve Connor 10th in the U23 men’s 5,000m (15:13.41).
Kingston & Polytechnic’s Mary Iheke clocked a PB to finish fourth in the U23 400m (55.74).
St Mary’s Mervyn Glover was seventh in the U20 men’s high jump (1.91m).
