Streatham Redskins head coach Barry Spours stepped up his summer recruitment campaign this week by raiding Invicta Dynamos for another of their 2009-10 championship squad.

Following in the footsteps of Joe Johnston in returning to south London is talented young defence man Jack Tarczycki.

The 20-year-old played as a junior at Streatham and made his Redskins debut in 2005.

He then took the step up to the English Premier League with a move to Bracknell Bees, before heading to Invicta two seasons ago.

Tarczycki is highly rated in the English National League as a no-nonsense defence man.

He enjoyed a solid campaign with the Dynamos last time out, as he finished with a league winner’s medal along with four goals and 11 assists in 35 appearances.

A delighted Spours said: “When Jack left Streatham to play for Bracknell Bees, I was playing for Redskins, and I totally understood his reasons for wanting to play in a higher league. His time at Invicta was understandable, too, although I had always hoped he would return to Streatham when the time was right, “Jack has come a long way in the past two seasons and his return to us is going to really strengthen our defence.

“Defensively, we had some of the very best young British players in the squad last season, but adding Jack into the mix will give some very strong defensive pairing options going forward.

“One of Jack’s strengths his ability to turn defensive play into offensive opportunities very quickl, and he picks up goals and assists, as he is not afraid of going forward when an opportunity arises.

“This is another great signing for us and I look forward to seeing Jack back in a Streatham jersey, where he truly belongs.”

Spours is confident of adding a few more new faces to the side as the summer goes on, in addition to the return of many of last year’s squad.
