Ashford enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive round of bowls action last week, as a commanding home win for the men's side kicked off a sequence of three out of four wins for the club.

The men took on Sunbury at home on Thursday and despite eventually winning 87-52, didn't have it all their own way as the away side fought back after a one-sided first-half in which J. Evans, P. Collins and W. Cox excelled.

Seemingly down-and-out, Sunbury clawed back 27 shots, before Ashford eventually took control of the game again and recovered the deficit to win comfortably.

Meanwhile, the ladies got revenge for a home defeat earlier in the season, as they won 63-40 at Sunbury, winning two rinks to one to claim victory.

In the men's double fours competition, Ashford were desperately unlucky to lose to Isleworth having won the home match by four shots, but a disappointing seven-shot loss in the away leg led to an agonising three-shot loss.

Sunday saw the mixed team round off the weekend nicely, as they won three triples to beat Meadhurst 9-1 in the Fordbridge Mixed League, the rink of A.Anderson, A.Tanner, B.Duckworth highest scorers with a 31 - 7 victory.
