The Roundshaw Downs parkrun is putting on a special celebration for first-time runners and new parkrunners on Saturday, May 29 (9am).
The idea is for runners to invite a friend, family member or first-time runner to take part in the 5km event and swell mumbers at the free weekly even, held on the site of the old Croydon Airport.
Event director Mick Turner said: “Along with the run - in lovely, rural surroundings - there will be cakes, drinks and a celebratory atmosphere.
“Runners just need to register on the parkrun site, print off the barcode and turn up a few minutes before 9am.”
