Luke Dorn reckons a Challenge Cup run could be just the boost Harlequins RL need after a frustrating start to the Super League season.

Dorn made his first start of the campaign after shoulder surgery in Saturday's 23-16 Fourth Round win over Wakefield Wildcats at the Stoop.

And the Australian star expects the Londoners to build on the win, despite being drawn against St Helens in the next round.

Dorn said: “I think the Challenge Cup is fantastic.

“I went to the final at Wembley last year and thought it was amazing.

“That is something I would really love to be a part of and I know the other players feel the same.

“It has been well documented that we have not had a good start to the season and a cup run could really be the catalyst for us.

“We need to take this forward and make sure we grow as a unit.”

Dorn has been a frustrated spectator as Quins have sunk to the bottom of the Super League pile this campaign.

But the back feels the return of himself, along with the likes of Rob Purdham and Karl Temata, could be the signal for better times.

Dorn added: “With the more experienced players coming back it takes a bit of pressure off the younger players.

“The young guys have been expected to step up and dominate games this season and with us coming back it allows them to grow and learn game by game.”

Harlequins face a tough task this week as they travel to Wigan for a Friday-night date with the Warriors.

But it is a clash Dorn is relishing.

He added: “I love playing at the JJB on a Friday night.

“Wigan away is the type of game you really look forward to as a player.

“Hopefully the worst is behind us now this season and we can go there in confident mood.”
