Striders of Croydon’s Steve Starvis finished 30th out of 1,055 finishers at last weekend’s Maidenhead 10-mile road race.

His time of 56 minutes, 55 seconds places him ninth in the club’s all-time rankings while Helen Furze was 16th in the women’s race (1:06.49), lifting her to third in Striders women’s rankings and setting an over-40 record.

Richard Lee-Smith led home Striders’ 13 finishers at Sunday’s Paddock Wood half-marathon in a personal best 1:21.33.
