Epsom District Swimming Club won the second round of the Rother League at the Rainbow Leisure Centre on Saturday, writes Barbie Grierson.
Up against visiting teams from Farnham, Wey Valley, Gosport and Kingston Royals, 38 swimmers aged 8-18 years competed for Epsom in the gala and claimed victory by just a few points from Fareham.
The senior girls' team of Nicola Penfold, Amy Lafferty, Hannah Parsons, Kate Taylor, Stephanie Barker and Katie Grierson achieved remarkable success by winning every event in their age group.
Other first places: Ryan Atkinson and Connor Monteith (U12 freestyle), Jason Ball and Jake Tilley (U14 breaststroke), Jake Tilley and Michael Griffiths (U14 freestyle), Rebecca Cottrell and Sarah Monger-Godfrey (U16 breaststroke), Grant Blake and Ralph Anstis (open backstroke) and the boys U12 and U14 medley teams.
Coach Steve Luff said: "Since every event required two or four swimmers Epsom's win reflected true strength and depth throughout the squads.
"It was this that enabled them to outstrip the other teams."
Sutton & Cheam swimmer Rebecca Hodges claimed a gold, silver and bronze medal at the Future Champions gala at Lewisham on Sunday.
Rebecca, 12, won gold in the backstroke and followed up with a second in the butterfly and third in the freestyle.
