St Mary’s University student Andrew Osagie has been selected for the British team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar, from March 12-14.
Osagie will compete in the 800m after an excellent performance at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham last Saturday.
In finishing third in the 800m, Osagie clocked an indoor personal best of 1:47.71. The previous weekend he won his first senior national title at the Aviva Indoor World Trials and UK Championships in Sheffield.
Osagie is among 60 young middle distance athletes who are part of double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes’ mentoring initiative, On Camp With Kelly, which is sponsored by Aviva.
