Justin Macenhill produced Striders of Croydon’s best performance at the Southern Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill on Saturday.
He finished 189th out of 806 finishers over the muddy 15km course, clocking one hour, one minute, 32 seconds.
Other Striders runners: 197 Tyler O’Callaghan 1:01.53, 457 Simon Ambrose 1:10.28, 458 Chris Morton 1:10.30, 564 Ian Yates 1:14.35.
Suzy Yates was Striders’ first woman in 204th out of 357 finishers, completing the 8km in 41:07. Alice Ewen was 206th (41:10).
In the Roundshaw Downs 5km parkrun, Richard Lee-Smith finished second (18:32).

Striders compete in the final matches of this season’s Surrey Cross Country League on Saturday with their men and women both targeting promotion.
The men, who lead Division Two, are in action in Richmond Park while the women, who are third in their division, race on Wimbledon Common (noon).
