Tadworth AC fielded seven runners in the annual Pirie 10-mile cross-country race at a very muddy Farthing Down, Coulsdon.
Dan Carpenter made a fine debut in the race, finishing 18th in one hour, six minutes, three seconds.
Dave Williamson was next, 20th in 1:06:28, followed by veteran runner Geoff Newton, who was placed first in the men's over-60 class.
Other Tadworth times: 27 Paul O'Callaghan 1:08:09, 65 Andy Cooksey 1:20:38, 74 Graham Reid 1:24:12, 82 Mary Matthews 1:27:44.
Tadworth’s annual Tadworth Ten race takes place on January 3, starting at 10.30am from Tattenham Corner, Epsom Downs.
Now in its 28th year, the challenging multi-terrain race regularly attracts more than 700 runners, and has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities.
