Narrow Wimbledon Common wins for O'Connell and McKay

Basil Wallace (SM35-39) representing Herne Hill Harriers took second by four seconds recording 17:35.

Stuart Fraser, (VM40-44) of Hercules Wimbledon AC placed third in a time of 17:37.

In her 37th appearance, unattached runner Sophie McKay (SW30-34) won in a time of 23:21 for the second time.

Sophie McKay beat Rebecca Stone (JW14) representing Hercules Wimbledon AC by two seconds recording 23:23 in the process.

Another unattached Sophie (Russell), (VW40-44) was placed third in a time of 23:58.

In the Age Graded competition, Stuart Fraser recorded a performance of 79.28 per cent.

In the points competition Ian Higgins has a lead of 346 points over second placed Andrew K Davies. Nicola El Kadiri leads Geraldine Hellings by 469 in the women's competition.

This week there were 13 first timers.

Eight runners recorded PBs, bringing the total number since the Wimbledon Common parkrun started to 3,684. In this time, 3,283 runners from 175 different clubs have completed the race 14,678 times covering a distance of 73,390km.

The male course record is held by Russell Dessaix-Chin who ran 15:12 on 09/05/09, event #123. The female equivalent is held by Julia Bleasdale who ran 17:44 on 29/08/09, event #139.
