Herne Hill Harriers men completed a disappointing November by finishing fifth in Saturday’s South of Thames five-mile cross country team championships at West Wickham.

The women fared much better, finishing third to collect their first medals in the race since taking the team title in 2002.
Women’s positions: 4 Ceri Diss, 12 Helen Sharp, 19 Sam Whiting, 26 Sarah Allen.
Meanwhile, Harriers runner Benedict Whitby has qualified for the Great Britain team for the European Cross Championships in Dublin next week by placing a superb third, ahead of local rival Phil Wicks.
The trial took place in Liverpool as part of the McCain UK Cross Challenge.
