Two Sutton Runners completed their 100th parkrun event on Saturday last at Banstead Woods – Banstead Wood parkrun co-director, Kaye Benjamin and Tim McIntyre, writes Tony Gallagher.

They were joined by nine clubmates. Fastest home from the club was McIntyre ,who finished 10th in 20 minutes, 34 seconds.

Over at Roundshaw Downs, Steven Barber finishedthird in his first outing at this location. Tony Gallagher also ran, clocking 25:52.

Jim Mundy ran a hat-trick of marathons in three days, when finishing the Druids Challenge The Ridgeway 82-mile event.

On Friday, he ran from Ivanhoe Beacon to Watlingham, a distance of 28 miles in 5:27:50. Next day, he completed the 27 miles from Watlingham to Wantage in 4 :57:55.

He finished the event off nicely on the Sunday, when running the 27 miles from Wantage to Avebury in 4:07:00.

Barry Walden clocked a personal best 50:16 at Sunday’s Old Deer Park Richmond 10km race, with clubmate Tony Bannister finishing in 54:00.

Paul Piper finished 195th in Sunday’s Leatherhead Fire Station 10km race, clocking 48:55.
