Herne Hill Harriers won the Rosenheim Plate at Kingsmeadow Stadium last week.
Herne Hill dominated the match from the start with a hat-tick of wins on the track through Robert Graham, in the 100m, 400m runner Peter Phillips (50.7) and the 4x200m relay team.
Field eventers Stu Thurgood, who won the hammer with 55.55m, and Paul Oloyemi, who won the long jump with 7m, made their contribution in the pouring rain to help Herne Hill lift the trophy for the first time since 2001.
However, Herne Hill didn’t have it all their own way as Belgrave’s Sam Colgate took the pole vault with 4.60m and clubmate Sean Reidy the 400m hurdles in 54.8, while Kingston & Polytechnic’s Tom Beedell won the 3,000m in 8:52.6.
For Hercules Wimbledon, teenager Liam White won the 800m (1:58.0) and Alex Bruce-Littlewood the 1,500m (4:10.5).
Result: 1 Herne Hill 87; 2 Kingston & Polytechnic (holders) 71; 3 Belgrave 65; 4 Croydon 64; 5 Hercules Wimbledon 48; 6 St Mary’s Richmond 33.5; 7 Walton 28; 8 Serpentine 25.5.
