Twickenham’s Oliver Golding was beaten in the semi-finals of the U18 boys’ singles at the AEGON British Junior National Championships at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

The 18-year-old number four seed came through some tough matches before going down 7-6 6-1 to Kent’s Lewis Burton.

“Lewis dominated the first set and I just didn’t take the chances that were there and open for me to take,” said Golding.

“I just wasn’t on my game and wasn’t taking important opportunities.

“I am off to America now for the next few weeks to keep training and get lots of match play in and hopefully things will continue to get better.”
