South London Harriers’ women finished second in their Southern Women's League Premier League track and field match at Reading last week, just 27 points behind Stevenage, writes Viv Gardner.

There were notable performances from sprinters Shayohe Simao (12.3 and 25.3) and Shanice Harrison (12.9 and 26.1) who won the A and B 100m and 200m and from Loulou Rowlands in the 400m (59.9).

Gemma Marrs won the 3,000m (10.43.3) and the SLH team won the 4x100 relay in 52.00.

In the under 15 100m, Vanessa La Fon won the A race in 13.3 and Reshae McPherson the B in 13.8.

Ruth Myburgh was second in the 800m in 2.23.0 and Alex Roberts won the under 13 High Jump with 1.35.

In the Dysart Dash 10km Road Race held in extremely hot and humid conditions last Sunday, Alex Halpin was SLH’s first finisher in 33rd place in 36.58 with Dan Gillett 37th in 37.12.

Mark Burtwell was 47th in 37.37 and Paul Mitchell 69th in 39.11. John Foss was 106th in 41.15. Clare Settle was the first SLH lady finisher in 129th overall, 42.47, with Sue MacDonald 155th in 43.48. Pam Iannella was 226th in 46.54.

SLH women won Thursday evening’s Nonsuch Park Relay with the team of Becky Woodland, Ruth Hutton, Sophie Cowper and Pippa Major. Becky and Sophie were two of the fastest timed on the course.
