Ashford Bowls Club endured mixed fortunes in their four matches last week, winning three but losing one.

The Ashford men played much better than in the earlier away match against Hampton in this league. Two rinks were in the lead from start to finish.

In the third rink, Hampton were putting up a spirited fight and were ahead for 15 ends.

Ashford took the lead on the 16th end and continued to win the last 5 ends which gave their team a convincing 3 rink victory and 4 more league points.

Ashfords' top rink were J.Gammon, W.Cox, D.Coleman, M.Delaney with a 42 - 8 win.

MIDDLESEX LADIES DOUBLE RINK COMPETITION LADYGATE 37 V ASHFORD 35

The Ashford Ladies have had some good results in this competition this season but were just beaten by Ladygate.

Ashford did not play as well as in the previous rounds and let themselves down with a poor result in the home match.

The away rink managed to win 22 - 13 but the home rink lost 13 - 24.

Ashfords' men continued their impressive run in this seasons league with another three rink to nil victory.

This win gives them seventeen points out of a possible twenty after five games.

Cambridge Park were looking likely to snatch a few points but Ashford had other ideas and played very well in the latter stage of the match and deservedly won all three rinks.

Highest scorers for Ashford were A.Tanner, N.Addecott, D.Coleman, M.Delaney with a 22 - 8 win.

MEN'S & LADIES' MATCH ASHFORD 101 v RICHINGS PARK 90

Ashford won four of the six triples played. This was a keenly fought match with five of the triples being won by less than five shots.

Ashford's top scorers were S.Woodhead, M.Gammon, J.Adams with a 20 - 10 victory.
