Sutton diver Ashton Hockham Marshall won the senior boys’ category at the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games diving at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Saturday.
Nearly 100 young divers from 22 boroughs took part across four categories – junior girls, junior boys, senior girls and senior boys – each diver had the chance to dive four times.
Ashton said: “I really enjoyed it although I didn’t think I had dived as well as I can. I am really happy to have won gold.
“I am looking forward to coming back again next year.”
The remainder of the finals at Europe’s largest multi-sport youth event take at Crystal Palace this weekend.
