Kingston & Polytechnic’s Toby Ulm has secured a place in Britain’s European U23 Championships squad.

Ulm claimed a silver medal by clocking 50.69 seconds for the 400m hurdles at last weekend’s England Champ-ionships in Bedford, which doubled up as trials for Kaunas in Lithuania.

Belgrave’s Wade Bennett-Jackson clinched his place in Britain’s sprint relay squad by claiming bronze in the 100m in a season’s best 10.44. Herne Hill’s Dele Onifade was eighth (10.74).

Bennett-Jackson also took bronze in the 200m in a season’s best of 21.40.

Belgrave’s Alex Wright added a national title to his South of England crown, taking the U20 10,000m track walking title (48:18.98).

Sutton & District’s Kola Adedoyin took silver in the junior men’s triple jump with a lifetime best 15.23m, but the selectors decided not to send any triple jumpers to the Europeans.

Herne Hill’s Robyn St Luce Boyce was fourth in the junior women’s 100m hurdles in a personal best 14.74.

Hercules Wimbledon’s Alex Bruce-Littlewood also took fourth in the junior men’s 3,000m steeplechase in a PB 9:23.49.

Herne Hill’s Paul Oluyemi was pipped for the bronze medal by just 1cm in the men’s U23 long jump (7.28m), 8cm ahead of Kingston & Polytechnic’s fifth-placed David Cook. Belgrave’s Jody Chappell was 10th (6.48m).

Epsom & Ewell’s Sandra Seaton was sixth in the women’s junior 100m hurdles (14.77), Kingston & Polytechnic’s Mary Iheke sixth in the junior 400m (56.11), Epsom & Ewell’s Emma Paton seventh in the U23 400m (57.38) and Herne Hill’s Asha-Leigh Ford-Scille eighth in the long jump (10.76m).

Ranelagh’s Sam Perkins was seventh in the U23 men’s 5,000m (14:58.96), with Belgrave’s South of England champion Matt Threadgold (55.38) seventh in the junior 400m hurdles.
