Weybridge travelled to Cobham Avorians on Saturday in the hope that they could break Avorians' winning streak.

The game started promisingly when Turner took the wicket of o’Connell in his first over and was then unfortunate not to have Durrand caught when on 13 in his second over, Bennett putting down a fairly straightforward catch.

He made good his error by holding the catch which removed Durrand but only after he had made 58 off 45 balls.

This brought Umpleby (69) to the wicket to share a partnership of 89 with Jarvis (64) and 67 with Harpley (23) before falling to the bowling of Mann.

Turner (3 for 48) and Mann (2 for 39) were the pick of the bowlers.

Avorians had set Weybridge a tough task to score 268 off their 50 overs.

Slipper was caught off the bowling of Jarvis with the score on 19 in the sixth over and thereafter wickets continued to fall at regular intervals with only Winslade (29) and Mann (29) getting past 20.

No bowler dominated for the home team, each making a contribution in bowling the visitors out for 129 in 34 overs.

Weybridge hope for an improved performance when they play Wimbledon on Saturday.
