The Wimbledon Whizzers flyball teams travelled to Huntingdonshire where the sun shone at the Cambridgeshire Canines Flyball Tournament.

This was held at the Wood Green Animal Shelter on Saturday and Sunday. The Wimbledon Woofers (Zak, Tally, Jed and Blue) were running in the top division against some of the fastest teams in the country – including the current British Flyball Champions, the High Flyers.

The team held its own against the stiff opposition, winning a race against the Alpha Dogz team from Yorkshire and recording an excellent time of 18.50 seconds.

The Woofers finished fifth in the tournament. The Wimbledon Whizzers (Bramble, Maddie, Phoenix, Sing and Wellie) ran in division 5, and after some nail-bitingly close races finished in an unprecedented 5-way tie for first place.

The tie was settled on the times of the fastest runs of the day, and at 20.98 seconds the Whizzers were the clear winners of the division.
