Ben Paviour produced an outstanding run to lead home the 17 Herne Hill runners who competed in Sunday’s London Marathon.

Paviour finished in two hours 29 minutes 17 seconds to finish 51st overall.

Herne Hill Harriers’ senior women secured a resounding win in their opening Southern Women’s Track and Field League fixture in Battersea Park on Saturday.

The club finished 14 points ahead of second-placed Sutton and hold a three-point lead over Team Southampton in the league table.

Thomas Ashby, 19, shattered his own club U20 discus records in his first outdoor meeting of the year at Woodford Green.

He threw the 1.75kg discus a superb 49.10m to add 6, to his best and also threw the senior 2kg discus 45.33 to command an early top 10 ranking among senior UK throwers.

Ashby also substantially improved his personal best with the 6kg shot to 14.24m as his throwing is looking to become a strong component of his challenge for decathlon honours this summer.
