Ashford Bowls Club began the new season with mixed form in mixed matches last weekend.
On Saturday, Ashford beat Bishop Duppas 118-100.
Ashford took an early lead and continued to build up their advantage, having a 30-shot lead after 15 ends.
However Bishop Duppas were not going to give in easily and fought back well in the last six ends, but found the deficit a bit too much for them to claw back.
Ashford’s top scorers were S.Woodhead, A.Blair, H.Anderson, J.Webber who won 36-14.
On Sunday, Ashford could only manage one drawing rink and five losing rinks in a 133-92 defeat by a strong Windsor & Eton team.
Ashford were able to contain Windsor for a few ends but then the visitors gained the upper hand easily and were able to extend their lead as the game progressed.
Ashfords drawing rink were B.Law, M.Gammon, W.Cox, M.Delaney.
