Tadworth AC’s David Freeman put in his best ever run at the Flora London Marathon, finishing in a time of two hours, 35 minutes and 21 seconds, and was placed 106th, 14th in the men's over-40 class.
His exceptional time should qualify him for a Championship place next year, which will ensure he starts at the front with the world's elite runners.
Dave Williamson also recorded a personal best time, coming 3111th in 3:23:06. Tadworth's ladies were represented by Hazel Imeson, 7493rd in 3:48:34.
Peter Geen, who raised £4,000 for Alzheimer's research from last year's race, came 25156th in 4:58:21.
Stephen Robinson was 30472nd in 5:31:16 and Michael Scott 34758th in 6:52:28, both in the men's over-60 class.
