Sutton Runners had 26 members running in Sunday’s London Flora Marathon, three of them running their first marathon and six running excellent PBs.

They included Gill Fry by one-and-a-half hours whilst other seasoned veterans were clocking up their tally of marathons.

Luis Gomez crossed the line first in 2.52.00 followed by Graham Miller 3.16.13 PB, Andy Ward 3.16.46, Jon Senker 3.34.47, Tim McIntyre 3.38.07, Anne Davidson 3.45.34, Darran Ford 3.48.56, Therese Panetta 3.49.44 PB, Mark Wingham 3.50.24, Anita Hedges 3.52.38, Lauren Jones 3.56.09 PB, Paul Piper 3.59.06 PB, Barbara Burnett 4.10.19, Mark Aldred 4.13.12, Gill Fry 4.22.25 PB, Jacky Arrowsmith 4.30.09, Lynn Hickey 4.42.41 PB, Philip Graham-Clare 4.45.11 (1st marathon), Alan Purvey 4.45.29, Darren Marshall 5.14.38, Trevor Simons 5.15.58, Barry Walden 5.18.23(1st marathon), Joe Farrugia 5.18.44 (1st marathon), Mary Lamont 5.35.37, John Daley 5.44.21 and Spencer Rolls 5.54.48.

For Spencer this was a particularly tough marathon as he was running as a Strom Trooper from Star Wars and found it extremely tough in the heat. Well done to all that took part in a tough marathon.

Sutton Runners are hosting their 10k on Sunday 3rd May in Beddington Park, Wallington. Entries are welcome on the day from 9.00-09.45 at a cost of £10. Start time of the race is 10.30am.
