Last week, in further preparation for the Flora London Marathon, Collingwood AC members participated in the Bungay Black Dog Marathon and Half Marathon.

Dave Ross led home in the full distance event in a time of 3:10:10 which secured 13th place; Andrew Stalley finished 30th in a time of 3:20:07; Steve Cooney was 55th in a time of 3:29:11; Allan Rumbles finished 105th in a time of 3:46:11.

Melanie Johnstone finished 207th in a time of 4:30:23; Thomas Wilkie was 234th and Rob Wilson 235th in times of 4:59:32 and 4:59:46 respectively.

In the half distance event Ruth Cottam finished 258th in a time of 1:55:58.

On Saturday in a short run out prior to the big event on Sunday Steve Cooney finished 15th in the Banstead Woods Time Trial in a time of 19:23; Shaun Cooney followed his brother home placed 35th in a new best time of 20:49, beating his previous best time by 3 seconds; Andrew Stalley finished 39th in 21:10.

Dave Quickenden was 103rd in 26:33 and Kate Knight finished 165th in a time of 34:20. A total of 172 runners participated.

On Sunday the Big Event took place, namely the Flora London Marathon, which as always was watched by people all over the World.

Dave Ross was the 1st Collingwood runner to cross the line in 3:03:14; the next 5 Collingwood members finished within 20 minutes of each other and the first 4 within 10 minutes as Andrew Stalley finished in 3:18:56; Steve Cooney 3:23:23.

David Johnson 2:25:49; Martin Lloyd 3:26:55 and Bob Chart 3:36:30; Melanie Johnstone ran despite a late injury scare and finished in 4:09:48.

Ben Cady finished in 4:13:05; Rob Wilson finished in 5:04:20; Doug White crossed the line in 5:44:27 and Kate Knight finished in 6:26:45.

Also on Sunday Allan Rumbles participated in the Shakespeare Marathon where he finished 50th in a time of 3:12:44, which is a time which qualifies for the Boston Marathon later in the year.

864 runners participated in the race.
